American Jace Clayton / DJ Rupture _ Writer, Musician, Sound Artist
Jace Clayton is known for his interdisciplinary approach with focus on how sound, memory, and public space interact, with an emphasis on low-income communities and the global south.
His book “Uproot: Travels in 21st Century Music and Digital Culture” was published in 2016. Recent projects include Sufi-Plug-Ins, a free suite of music software-as-art, based on non-western conceptions of sound and alternative interfaces. If you want to work with Jace Clayton, you can join the FANTEK Workshop. It is open to beginners and to experienced artists, with different backgrounds and ages, interested in the digital arts. Disciplines such as music, singing, visual arts, audiovisual and multimedia, performing arts and all related disciplines are welcome as much a digital media and information and communication technologies.
The Workshop is based on an interactive methodological approach and relies on the active participation of the participants. They are supposed to have an idea of an artistic project/practice to develop around digital arts. The aim of the workshop is to collectively develop an interdisciplinary creative project.
To apply, please send a CV, some referential works / a mini-portfolio and if you have already an idea you would like to work on, sketch it. Workshop’s language will be English. The deadline for applications is May 19, 2019. >>
